Welcome to Our House

To stay at our House, you must have a child, up to the age of 18, who is receiving medical treatment from a Jacksonville medical care facility. Families who stay at our House are often referred by their physician or social worker. For more information about eligibility, please contact us at 904-807-4663.

If you are a first time guest, a referral must be made by a medical professional involved in your child's care.

Yes. Criminal background checks are performed on all individuals, 18 years or older who plan to stay at Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville. This does not include a credit check.

Parents and/or legal guardians of the child receiving treatment may stay at Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville. Siblings are welcome as long as they are supervised by a parent or another adult family member. Child care is not provided. Most rooms have a maximum capacity of four guests.

Any person who has a physical condition that would affect the health of other guests, such as a cold, flu, chickenpox, should not visit. Visitors are welcome between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. All visitors must sign in/out at the front desk. Unfortunately, children under the age of six, who are not siblings, are unable to visit.

Each family may only have one room.

Effective March 1, 2018, Ronald McDonald House Jacksonville requests that each family contributes to their stay.  There is a suggested donation of $20 per night.  No family is ever turned away due to their inability to pay.   Please discuss any concerns with your Family Services Manager.

We also work with families who may have a third party payer. Please contact us before scheduling your stay to establish what is required for the third party payer to cover your stay.

The check in process usually takes approximately 30 minutes and includes paperwork, an overview of our House policies followed by a tour of the House. After orientation, families are shown to their private room.

Yes! The Family Kitchen is set up with three cooking areas for family use. Each family has space for their own dry food in our community pantry, plus refrigerator and freezer baskets for cold storage. The Family Kitchen is fully stocked with cooking appliances and utensils. Our Chef schedules and guides community meal volunteers in preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our families.

The House is staffed 24 hours a day/7 days a week. The safety of our families is of upmost importance to us. Each family is issued a key card for the front door, and all family members are asked to wear identifiable yellow arm bands and use parking passes for their vehicles. Cameras are located throughout the common areas of the campus. We use the services of a security guard for additional nighttime security.

Nemours Specialty Clinic and Wolfson Children's Hospital are within walking distance. UF Health, UF Health Proton Therapy and Brooks Rehabilitation are all within a six mile radius. Transportation is provided to all five hospitals, if necessary.

We are a smoke-free campus. The following are not allowed on our property: cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapes, hookahs, cigars and use of smokeless tobacco products including chewing tobacco and snuff.

The House allows service animals as defined by the Americans With Disabilities Act.
