Meet Reed

Reed happily greets our guests with a wagging tail and makes them feel at home as soon as they walk through the door. No one is able to resist a “pawshake” or one of his special “hugs”.

Smiles come easy and troubles are often forgotten when Reed is around. He loves to play fetch with a tennis ball in the courtyard, pull a wagon and interact with guests of all ages. There are plenty of snuggles to be shared. Donning silly hats with the kids is one of his favorite activities. You can bet we get the camera out for that! He enjoys when a guest helps groom his golden fur, brushes his teeth or just gives him a good old-fashioned belly rub.

Reed truly makes our House a “home-away-from-home” with his gift of unconditional love.

Check out the #WoofWednesday posts on our Facebook page to see Reed in action!

Reed is a Golden Retriever-Labrador mix who joined the Ronald McDonald House Jacksonville in 2013. He is an ADI certified Facility Dog, exceptionally trained and provided free of charge by Canine Companions for Independence.
